Zach Doleac is an adventure travel and sports photographer (and full-time outdoor junkie) born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He grew up banging keys on the piano, spitting seeds on a baseball diamond, and exploring the great outdoors with the Boy Scouts of America. At 18, he discovered photography and hasn’t been able to put his camera down since.
Zach moved across the country to attend Middlebury College in western Vermont, where he completed a double major in architecture and environmental science. During his time at school, Zach played two varsity sports, competed in triathlons, acted in a theater production, and developed a love of skiing and mountain biking.

After college, he went back west, teaming up with K2 Skis as the company’s Global Team Manager, Marketing Coordinator, and Photographer. He had the opportunity to ski alongside and photograph world-class athletes all over North America, and picked up a taste for snorkeling through deep powder along the way. Today, Zach’s work can be found in Freeskier Magazine and in stores worldwide.
Zach’s personal life is jam packed with adventure. In the past year, he has been backpacking in Kauai, surfing in Central America, skiing all over the western United States, mountain biking in the Cascades, and climbing in the Tetons. He only pauses long enough to take photographs of the people and places that he encounters along the way. Recently, Zach accepted the position of Director of Toughness at Columbia Sportswear to travel the globe putting our gear to the test!
